Awarded a commission as the City of Tampa Photographer Laureate 2010.
Posted 03/01/2010

Each year Tampa’s Big Picture Photographer Laureate Program, modeled after those such as the FSA, selects a photographer via a juried process to do a distinct project of the artist’s choosing and an archive is being built through these images about the life and times of Tampa. My project is to follow the Hillsborough River from the Green Swamp where the river begins, into Tampa Bay. I will photograph, the paradoxical scenery—as I travel through time both culturally and naturally from the swamp to the city.
