Awarded a commission as the City of Tampa Photographer Laureate 2010.

March 1st, 2010

Each year Tampa’s Big Picture Photographer Laureate Program, modeled after those such as the FSA, selects a photographer via a juried process to do a distinct project of the artist’s choosing and an archive is being built through these images about the life and times of Tampa. My project is to follow the Hillsborough River from the Green Swamp where the river begins, into Tampa Bay. I will photograph, the paradoxical scenery—as I travel through time both culturally and naturally from the swamp to the city.

November 6th, 2009

I can hardly believe it! I was thrilled to be invited by the most read Hungarian online newspaper, Origo to participate in their online photo exhibition series with a feature article that weekend. My grandmother Rose Klein Glaser was Hungarian. It was pointed out to me by one sharp friend that Kertesz’s first wife, Rogie Andre, was originally named Roza Klein…. Grandma did you have a secret life?
